Ever wondered about this Universe we’re living in?
I wanted to start off with the Big Bang, for those not familiar with it.
The Universe began its expansion within a narrow range of conditions. A fraction slower, and gravity would have drawn everything back into a quiet collapse. A fraction faster, and matter would have thinned too quickly to form structure. Within that delicate margin, space, time, and matter began their unfolding.
From the earliest moments, tiny variations appeared in the newly born cosmos. Some subtle differences in density gathered over time, giving rise to galaxies, clusters, and vast filaments stretching across the observable Universe. From these fluctuations, structure emerged naturally, shaping an ever-evolving cosmic landscape.
Then as the Universe cooled, hydrogen and helium formed, arising through the interplay of cosmic forces. Gravity drew this matter together into stars, where heavier elements such as carbon, oxygen, and iron were created and released back into space. These elements became part of an ongoing process that would later give rise to new stars, planets, and living systems. This unfolding continues still, flowing through every star, every planet, and every form of life.
The Big Bang is one of the biggest miracles ever.
Then approximately 200,000 years ago, atomically modern humans appeared on Earth, composed of elements forged long before the planet itself came into being. Genetic studies tracing mitochondrial DNA point to Africa as a shared origin, situating the human story within a common landscape and lineage.
We are participants in this unfolding. Our atoms, our cells, and our awareness arise from the same processes that shaped galaxies and stars. Every person is composed of star-formed elements, participating in the ongoing emergence, neither separate nor elevated, a part of the whole.
From this perspective, we are multidimensional beings.
I know that I was curios to know what this all meant when I heard about it.
So, what does this mean for our bodies, our choices, and the way we perceive this world.
The questions that have guided my own exploration for more than a decade came from a spiritual perspective. Questions like: Who am I? and What am I doing here? With each discovery, intrigue deepened and my worldview expanded.
Life unfolds as a living process shaped by connection, context, and participation. Beneath the world we see lies a deeper field that is always present, moving through everything that exists. The physicist, David Bohm described this as the implicate order, a hidden layer of reality where all things are held together in a subtle, enfolded state before taking form. From this field, patterns, movement, and energy unfold into the particles, forms, and events we experience. We are not separate from this field; we arise within it and as it. Through resonance and attunement, awareness aligns naturally with this deeper movement, experiencing reality as an ongoing unfolding that extends beyond space and time as we usually perceive them.
“When we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change, – Wayne Dyer”
What if our experiences are viewed as opportunities for growth and expansion, it would change the way we look at an experience. Insight would unfold through participation, awareness, and choice.
We are not separate from the Universe’s unfolding. We are expressions of it, woven from the same elements and participating in its ongoing story.
An invitation to some reflective inquiries:
So, if life is something we actively participate in, how might that influence the way we move through the world?
If reality is something we help shape through attention, intention, and action, how might that influence the choices we make each day?
A Deep Bow,
